Colin Kirkpatrick
Director, Insurance and Partnerships
Colin is a chartered insurer with deep strategic distribution and operational expertise developed as a senior insurance leader working across the UK, Europe, Middle East, and Asia markets. He has led the MPS Partnerships team since he joined in 2020, with a core focus on enhancing client experience.
Maryann van Blerk
Business Development Manager
Maryann leads our global corporate relationship account management team. She joined the Medical Protection Society (MPS) in 2017, is passionate on delivering excellent client outcomes and driving continuous improvement for the benefit of our corporate clients. Prior to MPS, Maryann held a number of leadership roles working across various geographies.
Maryann was born in South Africa, speaks English, Afrikaans, Dutch, and intermittent French.
Ian Cook
Head of Operations, Insurance and Partnerships
Ian joined MPS in 1994, spending over 25 years working within the finance team, including several years as Director of Finance. In 2017, he took on a strategic project role and led the team that established MPS’s insurance capability at Lloyd’s of London, which went live in 2019. Ian is part of the management team responsible for maintaining and developing relationships with the syndicate’s managing agent and Lloyd’s.
Priya Fathers
Active Underwriter
Priya joined MPS Partnerships in March 2023 and is the Active Underwriter for Syndicate 1892. Prior to joining MPS Partnerships Priya held several healthcare-focused underwriting roles as Senior Medical Malpractice Underwriter at Coverys, Medical Malpractice Underwriting Manager for WRB Underwriting, and as a Senior Medical Malpractice Underwriter at Swiss Re and Newline. She started her insurance career in 2002 in US professional indemnity. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in Management and French and is ACII qualified.
Matthew Halligan
Global Relationships Manager
Matthew has worked at MPS for six years, moving over to the MPS Partnerships team in December 2023, having spent over five years in the brand and marketing division. Matthew’s role is to understand a client’s business, their risks, and their medical malpractice requirements, and to ensure that the bespoke solution from the MPS Partnership’s suite of products is delivered through professional relationship management.
Nick Judson
Corporate Underwriter
Nick joined MPS Partnerships in June 2024 as a corporate underwriter, bringing over 15 years of experience in the medical malpractice insurance industry. He has expertise in underwriting a broad range of healthcare risks for both individual practitioners and healthcare organisations. Before joining MPS Partnerships, Nick held underwriting positions at Hiscox, WRB Underwriting, and MPS Risk Solutions, where he played a significant role in managing portfolios and delivering tailored insurance solutions.
Joeky Leung
Responsible Officer and Regional Development Director for Asia
Joeky Leung is an experienced professional serving as the Responsible Officer for Healthcare Protection in Hong Kong and Medical Protection’s Regional Development Director of Asia. With nearly 30 years of strategic management experience, Joeky has worked extensively in multinational healthcare assistance and insurance practices. Her expertise lies in various areas, including business development, marketing management, claims, and call centre operations.
Joeky has a strong focus on supporting global key accounts and managing large client portfolios. Throughout her career, Joeky has led numerous cross-country projects, emphasising customer-centred innovation in insurance and the scaling of digital cross-selling platforms. She has also been involved in managing strategic partnerships and portfolio cost management across Asia Pacific, specifically in Hong Kong SAR, China, and Southeast Asian countries, such as Singapore and Malaysia.
With a master's degree in business administration and a background in law, Joeky brings a diverse skill set to her role. Based in Hong Kong, Joeky is committed to achieving positive outcomes and upholding the values of MPS. She strives to deliver the highest level of service to members and actively seeks opportunities to drive development initiatives in response to the ever-changing healthcare industry. Joeky's dedication and expertise contribute to the delivery of exceptional service to members.
Sarah Middlebrough
Corporate Underwriter
Sarah is a corporate underwriter with a Cert CII qualification. She underwrites corporate risks for MPS Partnerships and leads the product and pricing colleagues within the team. Sarah joined MPS in 2005, after completing a BSc (Hons) in mathematics, and has been involved in the pricing of MPS’s individual member and corporate risks as an analyst and manager since 2013.
Keerthana Nagabhushana
Corporate Pricing Analyst
Keerthana specialises in pricing corporate solutions, combining technical expertise with a deep understanding of risk assessment and market trends. In this role, Keerthana supports the company’s mission to protect and support healthcare professionals by delivering accurate and competitive pricing solutions that meet regulatory standards and client needs.
Linda Ndebele
Corporate Pricing Analyst
Linda has over ten years’ experience working across various sectors of general insurance as both a reserving analyst and a pricing analyst.
Lindsay Pepper
Syndicate Operations Manager
Lindsay joined MPS in 2020 and has been Syndicate Operations Manager since 2022. She is responsible for ensuring the operational effectiveness of Syndicate 1892 activities, in line with the principles for doing business at Lloyd’s. She is currently working towards her diploma in Insurance.
Clive Westwood-Dunkley
Corporate Relationship Manager
Clive joined the MPS Partnerships team in 2022. He works with a broad range of healthcare organisations, specialising in private hospitals, private GP surgeries, fertility clinics, and occupational health services.
Jason Wood
Corporate Relationship Manager
Jason specialises in developing corporate clinical negligence solutions for medical and dental healthcare organisations from the suite of products and services available from MPS Partnerships. Jason has been serving individual members and clients since 2008.
